"Old" Vein Techniques

Vein Stripping is not performed at the SF Vein & Laser Center. It is a painful procedure that requires general anesthesia and a long recovery period. EVLT has replaced this procedure with equivalent efficacy and added benefits.

Vein Ligation is rarely performed, as EVLT has surpassed this treatment in effectiveness. This procedure is indicated when other alternatives are not available. This procedure is done to redirect or correct blood flow. This is done under local anesthesia with the enlarged vein being tied off through a small incision.
